LOVE is the doctrine of this church,

the quest of TRUTH its sacrament, and

SERVICE its prayer. . .

  • WHO WE ARE

Our Congregation of over one hundred members has a covenant, but no creed we must accept. We are guided by the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism, and support the concept of free pulpit, free pew.

  • OUR SERVICES

The first and third Sundays of the month the worship service is led by our minister Reverend Mark Walz, with music from our choir and pianist. Our Insight services are held on the second and fourth Sundays, with guest speakers, and fifth Sundays are Music on Barcelona concerts.

  • WHAT’S HAPPENING AT UUVC

Our calendar of activities includes educational sessions, social events, volunteer activities, Board and committee meetings, caring for our church and grounds. and of course, our Sunday services.

  • COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Each month we take a special collection, Share the Plate, for a non-profit organization, contributing over $25,000 annually to organizations in our community. Volunteers from UUVC also help in the thrift shop and kitchen at Jackson House every month.

  • COMPUTERS 4 KIDS PLUS

The C4K+ program volunteers refurbish computers donated by individuals, businesses and schools. The computers are wiped to remove all personal data and current software installed. Recipients include students and non-profit organizations.

  • SOCIAL EVENTS

Christmas Eve Soup Supper, Mother’s Day Brunch, Ice Cream Social, Thanksgiving Dinner… we share many enjoyable meals together. Outdoor events, game night, movies, and organized outings for members and friends strengthen bonds of community.

WELCOMING CONGREGATION

UUVC was recognized by the UUA in June 2020 as a Welcoming Congregation, and we proudly fly rainbow flags outside and inside our building. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whomever you love, we welcome you.

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALISM

Our Congregation is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, (UUA) formed when the American Unitarian Association (1825) and the Universalist Church of America (1793) joined in 1961. The chalice that we light every Sunday has two joined circles that represent these two becoming one.

MEMBERS AND FRIENDS

Visitors to UUVC may wish at some point to be considered Friends and be added to our directory and communications. When they decide to become Members, they attend informational classes and join at one of our new member ceremonies held several times a year.
